Adam PETREA DOB 01.04.1964 of Park Lane’, London N17 was sentenced at Brent Magistrates Court on the 09/11/09 to six months suspended sentence for street gambling.

Laurentiu CIOCOIU DOB 23.12.1971 of Belvedere Road, London E10 was sentenced at Brent Magistrates Court on the 28/10/09 to 28 days suspended sentence for street gambling.

Mihail STOICA DOB 30.11.1974 of Fanshawe Avenue, Barking was sentenced at Brent Magistrates Court on the 27/10/09 to 10 weeks imprisonment for street gambling.

Vasile CAZIMIR DOB 27.05.1976 of Waterloo Road, London E6 was sentenced at Brent Magistrates Court on the 20/10/09 to 14 days imprisonment for street gambling.

Traian COSTACHE DOB 27.07.1958 of Spencer Road, London E6 is currently on court bail, awaiting sentence for street gambling.

A 42-year-old man received a caution for street gambling.

Brent Safer Transport Team has been receiving complaints from the Bus Companies and members of the public regarding street gamblers in Brent. Since the 19th October the team have been targeting street gamblers by patrolling in plain clothes on the buses and at the bus stops. Six arrested for street gambling have been made so far, four of which received custodial sentences. The operation is an ongoing project and the team will continue to discourage the gamblers from Brent and our surrounding boroughs.

Sergeant Eileen McGrath from Brent Safer Transport Hub Team said: "After listening to the communities concerns over street gambling, Brent Safer Transport Team lead a crackdown on their activities concentrating on Wembley High Road and Alperton areas. Our work is not finished and we will continue to arrest to send out a strong message that their activities will not be tolerated.
