Q. I need information about how to get a police check. I live in your area, how do I get the forms and details of how to get a character check?

A. The process for obtaining subject access (a Police check) is fully explained on the following web site and the forms you require can be downloaded from there. Unfortunately they will require an original signature on the form which means you will have to send it by post. Please visit   www.met.police.uk/dataprotection .

Q. Someone has parked their car blocking my driveway.
A. Check with neighbours or local shops to see if the driver is nearby. If not, call the local police on 020 7421 1212 and have the registration number of the car concerned with you.

A. Ring the Local Authority Wardens on 020 7527 2000, have the registration number of the car concerned when you ring up.

Q. A car has been abandoned in my street or a neighbouring street. It has no road tax.

Q. I have become the victim of a minor crime, how do I report it?
A. If police do not need to attend the scene, i.e. there is no known suspect, no injury, minor damage and does not involve a child victim, the matter can be reported on the Internet [report a crime online ] or consider Telephone Crime Reporting at Islington Police Station on 020 7421 1212.
