March 2010

  • 3 year prison sentence for street robber
    On the 2nd December 2009 Mwaba Mule, of Castlehaven Road, NW1, appeared before Kingston Crown Court on a charge of robbery.
    Mule, aged 20 was subsequently found guilty of the offence and sentenced to 3 years imprisonment.

  • Burglar receives 6 year prison sentence
    On the 21/01/2010 David Otten, aged 41 of no fixed abode, appeared before Isleworth Crown Court and was sentenced to 6 years imprisonment on two charges of burglary and one charge of possession of controlled drugs.

  • Man sentenced to 4 months imprisonment for assault on hospital staff
    On the 5th March 2010, Michael Hammond, aged 41 from Sydney Street, SW3 was sentenced to 4 months imprisonment at West London Magistrates Court for assaulting a member of NHS staff at the South Kensington & Chelsea Mental Health Unit.

  • Man receives 4 month prison sentence for theft and driving offences
    On the 4th March 2010, Jacob Pierre of Bonding Yard Walk, SE16 appeared before Kingston Crown Court where he was found guilty of theft and driving offences and sentenced to 4 months imprisonment and disqualified from driving for 2 years.

  • Police seize a second dangerous dog
    Officers from the Cremorne Safer Neighbourhoods Team, working together with officers from the Met's Status Dog Unit have seized a second dog, believed to be a pit bull
    under the Dangerous Dogs Act.

  • Patience and hard work pays off for detectives
    On the 14th September 2009, John Grant, 45 of Albert Road, London SE25 was found guilty at Kingston Crown Court on four charges of forgery and counterfeiting along with charges of possesion and the supply of controlled drugs.

  • Robber receives 18 month prison sentence
    On the 4th December 2009 Mr Kaio Simpson, aged 20 of Princess Road, Brent attended Kingston Crown Court where he was found guilty on 3 charges of robbery and sentenced to 18 months imprisonment.

February 2010

  • Cremorne Safer Neighbourhoods Team seize dangerous dog
    Police from the Cremorne Safer Neighbourhoods Team in company with officers from the Metropolitan Police Status Dogs Unit executed a warrant on the Worlds End Estate today to seize a dog under the Dangerous Dogs Act.

  • Golborne Safer Neighbourhoods Team help teach local school children about road safety
    Andy Sharp, a local Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) from Golborne Safer Neighbourhoods Ward has teamed up with Joe Lewis, Road Safety Officer from the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea and the Met’s very own ‘PCSO Steve’ to deliver a series of road safety talks to groups of school children from each of the four schools on Golborne Ward.

 

January 2010

  • Brompton Group Dispersal Zone  
    A group dispersal zone has been in operation within the bounds of Brompton Ward since it was first introduced on the 1st April 2009.
    The zone was designed to target beggars who frequent the area, particularly those who use aggressive tactics to intimidate members of the public in and around the busy retail shopping district of Knightsbridge.

  • ASBO issued for violent and abusive behaviour
    A 36 year old male has been been made the subject of a 2 year Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) as a result of repeatedly showing disregard and demonstrating violent behaviour towards the local community, local businesses, the police and more importantly local residents.

  • Bag thieves jailed
    Two prolific bag thieves have been jailed thanks to the hard work of Police Officers and PCSO's from Pembridge Safer Neighbourhoods Team.

  • Drug dealer receives 4 year prison sentence
    On the 04/12/2009 25 year old Mohammed Dinee of Cambridge Gardens W10 was sentenced to 4 years imprisonment for possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and handling stolen goods.

  • Police catch illegal drivers using disabled badges
    Police Officers and PCSO's from Abingdon Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT) recently joined forces with enforcement Officers from Kensington and Chelsea Council in a 2 day operation to target the misuse of disabled parking permits in the Kensington and Fulham Road areas.

  • Closure order at Matthew Close address  
    As part of the pre Notting Hill Carnival policing operation officers from Kensington and Chelsea obtained a Closure Order at an address in the north of the borough. Officers at CASBAT (Community Antisocial Behaviour Action Team) based at Whitlock House, Kensington alongside colleagues from CID, Safer Neighbourhoods and the Tenant Management Organisation were able to obtain a interim closure order for 10 Matthew Close, W10.

  • Men jailed for smash and grab raid
    On 13 August 2009 two men were jailed for a total of nine years over a smash and grab raid at the Jumeirah Hotel, SW1, on 24 April 2009. A further two juveniles were sentenced to a total of 30 months detention for their part in the raid.

  • Robber jailed for attacking pregnant woman  
    A 24 year-old man has been jailed for at least three years following a vicious attack on a mum-to-be. Frank Worley, of no fixed address, received an Indeterminate Sentence for Public Protection following a trial at Blackfriars Crown Court earlier this year.
