'Street Drinking' in Waterloo

  • Bishops Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT) have confiscated alcohol in the Controlled Drinking Zone with in excess of seventy seizures since September 2009.

  • We have referred a number of ‘Street Drinkers’ to Lambeth Outreach Services for help and support.

  • We have vigoursly enforced Section 30 in the Dispersal Zone. Some twenty-one dispersal notices have been issued to deal with anti-social behaviour in the Waterloo area since August 2009.

Anti-Social Behaviour in Canterbury/Stangate Houses

  • We have conducted high visibility patrols to prevent anti-social behaviour in and around Stangate and Canterbury House.

  • We have supported an eviction from Archway in Carlisle Lane SE1 to prevent any further use for weekend ‘raves’.

  • We have assisted in a Community Payback Scheme in Royal Street SE1 to clear the area that was being frequented by drug users.

Youth Engagement

  • Safer Schools Police Officer posted to London Nautical School.

  • We have conducted high-visibility patrols to prevent crime in the Waterloo area, targeting school closing times.

  • We have carried out 'Personal Safety' presentations to 500 International students as part of the Kings College University Induction Day.

  • We have actively participated in Junior Citizen Scheme with our local primary schools.
