Operation Crevice: Men sentenced

Five men convicted for their parts in a terror plot have been sentenced.

All the men have been jailed for life with indeterminate (no time limit) sentences:

Omar Khyam, Anthony Garcia and Waheed Mahmood will all serve a minimum of 20 years' before they are considered for parole (if they were given determinate sentences this would amount to 40 years).

Jawad Akbar and Salahuddin Amin both will serve a minimum of 17-and-a-half years' before they are considered for parole (if they were given determinate sentences this would amount to 35 years').

If they are ever released,  they will be on life licences.

The Judge described the men as, ' Cruel and ruthless men'.  He also commended all the officers involved and praised the investigation.
